The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested two suspects in Kwara State over separate cases involving an alleged investment scam worth millions of naira and a suspected cult-related incident.
In the investment fraud case, a 33 year old suspect, Onwucheku Odum Umeh, was reportedly apprehended in Ikeja, Lagos State, following investigations into complaints associated with the PXES investment platform. Preliminary findings indicate that six investors allegedly lost a combined ₦78.36 million through the scheme.
Investigators are also examining possible links between the platform and Ragekay Global Investment Limited as they work to establish how the funds were handled. The NSCDC has encouraged affected investors to provide transaction receipts, bank statements and other relevant documents to assist the investigation.
Meanwhile, a 29 year old man, Oluwafemi Olarewaju, was arrested in connection with an alleged cult-related confrontation in Ilorin. Authorities suspect the incident may have been linked to an attempt to retaliate over an earlier clash. A locally made firearm and mobile phones were reportedly recovered during the operation, while other suspected participants remain at large.
The NSCDC said investigations into both incidents are ongoing, with further legal action expected based on the findings. The cases highlight the importance of reporting suspected financial fraud and providing security agencies with credible information to help tackle criminal activities.
