A Nigerian beauty entrepreneur, is preparing to undertake a 48-hour pedicure marathon in a bid to earn recognition from Guinness World Records and draw attention to professional foot care.
Samuel Olusanya, popularly known as Sam Pedicures, is scheduled to begin the challenge on October 29 and conclude on October 31, 2026. The event will take place at Njay Beauty Spa & Salon in Akure, Ondo State.
The initiative is designed to highlight opportunities in Nigeria’s beauty and wellness sector while encouraging greater awareness of foot hygiene and proper foot care.
Samuel, a graduate of Anatomy from the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, said his academic background had strengthened his understanding of the human body and the importance of maintaining healthy feet.
His journey into the beauty industry began during his second year at university, when he started learning manicure and pedicure techniques. Over five years of practice, what began as a side business developed into Sam Pedicures, a brand focused on professional foot care.
The entrepreneur said his experience had convinced him that young Nigerians could build sustainable businesses by developing practical skills rather than relying solely on conventional employment opportunities.
Beyond the record attempt, the organisers plan to make the event an engaging experience for visitors, with entertainment, a red-carpet session, refreshments and complimentary pedicure services for attendees.
Samuel’s challenge also aims to inspire young people to combine formal education with entrepreneurship and explore opportunities within the personal care industry.
The proposed attempt adds to the growing number of Nigerians seeking international recognition through Guinness World Records challenges across different fields. However, the success of Samuel’s bid will depend on meeting the organisation’s requirements and verification procedures.
