The media directorate of the Labour Party’s campaign structure in Abia State has reaffirmed its commitment to securing a second term for Governor Alex Otti, promising to intensify its communication and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The team said it would use its media platforms to communicate the governor’s policies, programmes and achievements to residents while strengthening public engagement across the state. It also pledged to counter misinformation and ensure that the party’s campaign messages reach communities at the grassroots.

The directorate maintained that effective communication would be crucial to the party’s re-election strategy, particularly as political activities begin to gather momentum. It expressed confidence that sustained publicity and engagement with voters would help explain the administration’s priorities and development agenda.

The group also called on party members, supporters and other stakeholders to work together towards the governor’s re-election, stressing the importance of unity and coordinated campaign activities. It said its efforts would focus on presenting the party’s message and encouraging residents to participate in the democratic process.

The declaration signals an early effort by the Abia Labour Party structure to organise its media campaign ahead of the next governorship poll. However, the governor’s re-election bid will ultimately be determined by voters, whose assessment of his administration’s performance and promises will be central to the 2027 contest.
