Former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has intensified the build-up to his highly anticipated showdown with Anthony Joshua, predicting a knockout victory when the British rivals meet on December 11 in Cardiff, Wales.
Fury made the declaration after watching Daniel Dubois successfully defend his WBO heavyweight title against Fabio Wardley in London on Saturday. Dubois secured the victory in the second round after unleashing a series of punches that forced Wardley’s corner to stop the contest.
Reacting to the fight in a video shared on Instagram, Fury congratulated Dubois on his performance before warning that Joshua could suffer a similar fate when they eventually face each other.
The upcoming bout will take place at the Principality Stadium, with the World Boxing Association heavyweight title on the line. Victory would give the 38-year-old Fury an opportunity to become a three-time world champion.
Meanwhile, Joshua, a former two-time unified heavyweight champion, will be seeking to overcome his British rival in what is expected to be one of the biggest boxing events of the year. The contest has attracted considerable attention following years of speculation and unsuccessful attempts to arrange the encounter.
Fury is also hoping to use the Joshua fight as a pathway towards another meeting with Ukrainian heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk, who defeated him twice in 2024. However, Joshua stands between Fury and his ambition of securing another opportunity to reclaim the heavyweight crown.
The December showdown is expected to draw significant global interest, as both fighters seek to establish their superiority in a rivalry that has kept boxing fans waiting for years.
