Pupils and teachers of Ladi-Lak Nursery and Primary School in Apapa, Lagos, have received new classroom furniture and educational materials donated by Dangote Cement Plc.
The intervention was delivered through the company’s Clinker Terminal as part of its school support initiative, following a request from the school for assistance.
The items, which include tables, chairs and other learning resources, are expected to make classrooms more conducive for teaching while helping pupils access better educational facilities.
The school’s Head Teacher, Ayoku Fatima Adenike, expressed appreciation for the support, saying it had addressed some of the institution’s pressing needs and brought excitement to both staff and pupils.
Dangote Cement’s Group Head of Social Performance, Wakeel Olayiwola, said the company’s community interventions cover areas such as education, healthcare, infrastructure and economic empowerment, with the aim of supporting development in its host communities.
Also speaking, the Head of Clinker Exports and Transport, Boluwarin Aladeniyi, urged the pupils to remain disciplined and dedicated to their studies, describing the donated facilities as an investment in their future.
He formally handed the items over to the school management and encouraged the authorities to ensure that the facilities are properly maintained and used for the benefit of current and future pupils.
