The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has withdrawn its petrol supply from oil marketers who are still importing fuel into Nigeria.

The refinery said the decision followed concerns over the practice of marketers combining its locally refined petrol with imported products before selling them in the Nigerian market.

According to the company, it would no longer supply its petrol to businesses engaged in fuel imports, as it seeks to maintain control over the quality and integrity of products leaving its facility.

The move comes amid increasing competition between domestic refiners and petroleum importers, with the Dangote refinery pushing for greater reliance on locally produced fuel.

The latest development is expected to have implications for fuel marketers and could further alter the dynamics of petrol distribution across the country.
