The Kano State House of Assembly has confirmed six commissioner nominees following their screening by lawmakers, paving the way for their appointment into the state executive council.
The confirmation followed a review of the nominees’ qualifications, professional backgrounds and readiness to serve in the administration. The exercise forms part of the constitutional process for filling commissioner positions in the state government.
The newly confirmed nominees are expected to support the implementation of government policies and coordinate activities within their respective ministries once their appointments are finalised.
The development comes as the Kano State Government continues efforts to strengthen its cabinet and improve the delivery of public services. Commissioners play a key role in translating government policies into programmes across sectors such as education, health, infrastructure and economic development.
With the Assembly’s approval secured, attention now turns to the formal completion of the appointment process and the responsibilities the new commissioners will assume. Their performance will be important in determining how effectively their respective ministries meet the needs of Kano residents.
