The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled December 15 for the publication of Nigeria’s final register of voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The exercise is an important stage in the electoral preparations, as the register will provide the official record of eligible voters expected to participate in the forthcoming polls.
The commission’s preparations also place renewed attention on voter registration, collection of Permanent Voter Cards and the need for citizens to verify their details to minimise errors and ensure eligible voters are properly captured.
INEC’s publication of the final register is expected to support electoral planning and help political parties, observers and other stakeholders understand the number and distribution of registered voters across the country.
As preparations for the 2027 elections continue, eligible Nigerians are encouraged to follow official announcements from the commission and comply with its guidelines. The accuracy of the voters’ register remains essential to promoting credible elections and protecting citizens’ right to vote.
