A cleric in Abia State, Reverend Chika Ubani, has described Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as a political figure whose influence extends beyond Abia North, calling for broader support for his re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a church service in Aba, Ubani expressed support for Kalu’s return to the Senate, arguing that his record in public service and relationships with communities across the state had attracted attention beyond the senatorial district he currently represents.
The cleric highlighted projects he attributed to the senator, particularly in education and rural infrastructure. He cited hostel facilities in several Christian educational institutions and road interventions in rural communities as examples of initiatives he believes have contributed to development.
Ubani also urged traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders in Abia North to openly express their positions on the forthcoming senatorial contest. He called on other aspirants to consider his appeal for Kalu’s continued representation.
The remarks add to the growing political conversations surrounding the 2027 elections in Abia State. However, the final decision rests with voters, who will have the opportunity to assess the records, proposals and commitments of the candidates before making their choice.
