President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after spending about four weeks on a working vacation in Europe, dismissing concerns surrounding his health.
The President arrived in Lagos on Tuesday evening after departing France, where he had spent the final part of his trip. He was received at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport by top government officials and political leaders.
Speaking to journalists after his arrival, Tinubu said there was no cause for concern about his wellbeing, describing himself as healthy and prepared to resume his activities.
His return follows weeks of public discussion over his prolonged stay abroad. The Presidency had maintained that Tinubu remained in contact with developments in Nigeria and continued to direct government affairs during the trip.
The President is expected to participate in Independence Day activities in Lagos and hold meetings with political associates and leaders as preparations for the 2027 elections continue.
