The All Progressives Congress has reacted sarcastically to comments by former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, about the financial difficulty he experienced while trying to obtain medication for his late mother.
The ruling party questioned Amaechi’s complaint, pointing to his extensive political career and the various public positions he has held over the years.
The APC argued that his experience was being presented as evidence of the country’s economic challenges, while also using the opportunity to question his record as a former government official.
The party further turned its attention to Amaechi’s political ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections, suggesting that his renewed interest in public office was connected to the privileges that come with political power.
The APC’s reaction came after Amaechi criticised the economic situation in the country and spoke about the difficulty he encountered in paying for his mother’s medication.
