Nigeria has moved four places higher in the latest African investment assessment, rising from 12th to eighth position among 19 economies reviewed by Bloomberg Economics.
The country’s improved standing saw it move ahead of Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya and Namibia in the 2026 Investment Risk-O-Meter.
The assessment showed stronger performances in three key areas — economic strength, fiscal strength and external vulnerability — contributing to Nigeria’s rise on the continent.
Despite the improvement, the country continues to face challenges including public debt, inflation, infrastructure gaps and pressure on the cost of living.
The latest ranking comes amid ongoing economic reforms, including changes to fuel pricing, foreign exchange management and electricity tariffs, as the government seeks to strengthen the economy and attract more investment.
