The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has established a 600-member campaign council in Rivers State as part of efforts to strengthen its political structure and prepare for the 2027 general elections.
The formation of the council is expected to improve the party’s grassroots mobilisation, coordination and engagement with voters across the state. The large membership reflects the party’s attempt to build a wider network capable of supporting its political activities ahead of the polls.
The campaign council is expected to bring together party members and stakeholders who will contribute to planning, publicity, voter outreach and other campaign-related responsibilities. Such structures are often used by political parties to coordinate activities across different local government areas and communities.
The development comes as political parties continue to organise their structures and position themselves ahead of the next general elections. With preparations gradually gaining momentum, parties are seeking to expand their reach and communicate their programmes to prospective supporters.
The ADC’s new council will be expected to translate its numerical strength into effective grassroots engagement and a coordinated campaign strategy. Its eventual impact will depend on the party’s organisation, public engagement and ability to present its political agenda to voters across Rivers State.
