Former Osun Central Senator Olusola Adeyeye has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will retain strong political support in the South-West ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Adeyeye said Tinubu could still secure victory even if his performance in some parts of the region falls short of expectations, citing the 1999 presidential election as an example.
He recalled that former President Olusegun Obasanjo did not win the South-West during that election but went on to emerge victorious nationally.
The former senator also argued that the APC’s strength in the region would remain significant if the party maintains unity ahead of the 2027 polls.
