British heavyweight stars Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are set to finally share the ring, with their much-anticipated clash scheduled for December 11 in Cardiff.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Fury played down the hostility that has surrounded the proposed fight for years, saying the focus is now on what happens inside the ring. He also urged fans to expect a competitive contest between two experienced former heavyweight champions.
Fury said the fight represents an important moment in his career and expressed his desire to perform in front of a home crowd. He ended his remarks by saying the contest should be decided fairly, with the better fighter emerging victorious on the night.
Joshua, meanwhile, welcomed the opportunity to face Fury after several previous attempts to organise the bout failed to materialise. The former Olympic champion said he is focused on preparing properly and bringing his experience into what is expected to be a major night for British boxing.
The December meeting will be the first professional fight between Fury and Joshua, with the contest adding another chapter to their long-running rivalry. Both men have previously held world heavyweight titles, making the encounter one of the biggest all-British boxing matchups in recent years.
