The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has urged admission seekers to be vigilant when receiving offers from higher institutions, warning that admissions not recognised under its approved system could create problems for affected students.
The board advised candidates to check their admission status on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) before proceeding with registration or other academic activities linked to their admission.
JAMB’s warning highlights concerns over admission arrangements that do not comply with established guidelines. Candidates were encouraged to seek confirmation through the board’s official platforms instead of relying on unofficial promises or admission notifications.
The examination body also used its JAMB Explained programme to educate the public on the dangers associated with irregular admissions and the importance of following the prescribed procedures for securing placement in tertiary institutions.
It further reminded candidates to obtain their admission letters through its e-Facility portal, stressing the need to ensure that their admission records are properly captured within the recognised system.
