A new tennis tournament with a total prize purse of N30 million is set to take place in Lagos, with former Davis Cup player Destiny Ford Da-Silva behind the initiative.
The competition, organised through the Destiny Ford Da-Silva Foundation, will be held at the National Stadium tennis courts in Surulere from November 13 to 21.
Players will compete in a range of events covering men’s and women’s singles and doubles, wheelchair tennis and the men’s veterans category. The tournament is expected to attract participants from different parts of Nigeria.
The men’s and women’s singles champions will each receive N1.5 million, while prize money will also be distributed among winners in the other categories.
The qualifying rounds are scheduled for November 13, with the main draw beginning on November 16. The tournament will conclude on November 21.
