Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has spoken publicly about a health challenge he is currently experiencing, revealing that walking has become difficult for him. The actor also disclosed that he has noticed intermittent swelling in different parts of his body.
Edochie made the disclosure while visiting Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Armah in Accra. The visit was part of his activities in Ghana, where he was also involved in the launch of the Pete Edochie Legacy Project, an initiative celebrating his contribution to African cinema and storytelling.
The 79-year-old actor said the swelling does not remain constant, explaining that it sometimes appears in his hands or legs before reducing. Despite the physical difficulties, he said he remains hopeful that his condition will improve.
Edochie also became emotional while speaking about his personal wishes, saying he prays that his health situation will not make him a burden to the people around him. He said he continues to place his trust in God while hoping for recovery.
During the visit, the veteran actor also prayed for Emmanuel Armah, who has reportedly faced prolonged health challenges, and provided financial assistance towards his care. Edochie encouraged his fellow actor to remain hopeful, expressing his belief that Armah can still recover.
