Wonah Williams has secured the September Fans’ Player of the Month award in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), earning a cash reward of ₦100,000 for his performances during the period.
The winger was announced as the winner on Monday after supporters’ votes placed him ahead of goalkeeper Dede Dare and defender Damian Chibueze in the monthly contest.
Williams’ recognition comes at a crucial point in Enyimba’s campaign, with the Aba-based club working to overcome its poor start to the season. The team managed to gather seven points during September, with the winger’s displays contributing to its efforts.
The award provides an opportunity for supporters to recognise players whose performances have made a difference to the team. Rather than being decided solely by club officials, the monthly honour allows fans to determine their preferred candidate through voting.
Dare and Chibueze were the other players considered for the September recognition, but Williams emerged as the supporters’ choice.
The next round of voting is expected to follow the release of nominees for October, giving fans another opportunity to recognise a standout performer.
