Presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, says his political team is approaching the 2027 general elections with greater preparation than it had during the 2023 contest. Obi made the claim while outlining his plans and political strategy ahead of the upcoming polls.
The former Anambra State governor said lessons from the previous election have helped his team strengthen its organisation and readiness. He also indicated that his camp is open to working with other political groups where such cooperation could contribute to a credible electoral process.
Obi urged Nigerians, particularly young citizens, to remain actively involved in the democratic process. He stressed the importance of citizens participating in elections and paying attention to issues that could shape the country’s future.
The presidential hopeful also presented his political agenda as one focused on improving opportunities for Nigerians and addressing major challenges confronting the country. His remarks come as political parties and presidential contenders intensify their preparations for the 2027 elections.
Obi’s declaration adds to the growing political activity ahead of the next presidential contest. With parties building structures, forming alliances and mobilising supporters, the political landscape is expected to become increasingly active as Nigeria moves closer to the polls.
