Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has called on political stakeholders and community leaders in Rivers State to work together in support of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Wike made the call during a consultative meeting with stakeholders from Akpor Kingdom in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, where he said his political alignment with the President remains firm.
The former Rivers State governor urged politicians, traditional rulers, religious leaders and other community figures to participate in grassroots mobilisation, stressing the need to build a broad political structure across the state.
He also called on political actors to put past disagreements aside and focus on what he described as the collective interest of the people. Wike said he would continue to engage communities and strengthen political structures ahead of the election.
The minister has also reiterated his pledge to resign as FCT minister if President Tinubu fails to win Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory in the 2027 presidential election.
