The United States and China have unveiled product lists for a proposed tariff reduction arrangement covering about $30 billion worth of goods moving in each direction, following recent talks between the two countries.
Under the framework, the United States could reduce tariffs on 77 categories of Chinese products, including household items, toys, sports equipment, fireworks and Christmas decorations. The exact tariff rates and implementation timetable have not yet been announced.
China’s side of the arrangement covers more than 1,600 categories of American products. The list includes beef, pork, poultry, seafood, grains, dairy products, whiskey, coal and timber, among other goods.
The proposed tariff changes form part of a broader effort by Washington and Beijing to ease trade tensions and expand market access for selected non-sensitive products. The two governments are expected to review the recommended product lists before applying any reduced tariff treatment.
China has also agreed to import at least 10 million metric tons of American coal in both 2027 and 2028, while the existing US-China trade truce has been extended until January 10. The latest arrangement is expected to remain under review as both sides work toward wider trade discussions.
