Heavy rainfall did little to prevent political engagement in parts of Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State, as residents gathered during Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s ongoing consultations ahead of the 2027 senatorial election.
The engagement covered three wards in the community, where residents, political supporters and community stakeholders participated in meetings with the senator and members of his team. The gathering forms part of a wider ward-to-ward tour across the Abia North Senatorial District.
During the meetings, some residents expressed support for Kalu’s bid to return to the Senate, while discussions centred on grassroots engagement and issues affecting communities within the district. The senator’s political team has continued consultations with constituents as the 2027 election approaches.
The development comes amid increasing political activities across Abia North, with candidates and their supporters stepping up engagements with voters and community structures ahead of the next general election.
Kalu is seeking another term representing Abia North on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, while his ongoing consultations are expected to take him to other communities across the senatorial district.
