An Ogun State entrepreneur, Chief Ayoola Osunleye, has advised young Nigerians to pursue entrepreneurship with patience, integrity and commitment, warning against the temptation to achieve success without putting in the necessary effort.

Osunleye, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ayoludanth Nigeria Enterprises Limited, gave the advice while hosting more than 300 young people at his supermarket in Mologede Town, Magbon, Abeokuta, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 2026 Independence Day.

He urged aspiring business owners to remain focused on their goals, explaining that honesty, originality and dedication were essential to earning customers’ confidence and establishing sustainable businesses.

Sharing his personal experience, the businessman revealed that his entrepreneurial journey began during his secondary school days when he engaged in animal rearing and the production and sale of meat pies. He later expanded into agriculture, supermarket operations and building construction.

Osunleye encouraged young people to begin with whatever resources they have rather than wait for perfect conditions, stressing that businesses established at the local level could eventually grow into internationally recognised enterprises.

He also highlighted the importance of mentorship, urging aspiring entrepreneurs to learn from experienced individuals who could offer guidance and help them navigate business challenges. He cited former African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina and Winners’ Chapel founder David Oyedepo as personalities he admires.

The event featured musical entertainment by Boye Best and his band, providing an opportunity for the youths to celebrate the independence anniversary while receiving guidance on business development and personal growth.
