Every second brings Nigerians closer to exercising their democratic right and shaping the future of our nation.
Exercise your democratic right responsibly, peacefully and lawfully.
As Nigeria commemorates 66 years of independence, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have urged citizens to remain dedicated to the country’s development and future.
JAMB used the occasion to reflect on Nigeria’s journey since independence, drawing attention to the growing role of technology in transforming different aspects of national life. The board cited the adoption of computer-based testing as one of the notable changes in the conduct of its examinations.
According to the examination body, the anniversary presents an opportunity for Nigerians to appreciate the country’s achievements while recognising the need for continued efforts to address existing challenges.
The EFCC also called for a collective commitment to building a nation where progress is supported by transparency, accountability and responsible citizenship.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, stressed that the benefits of independence could only be sustained when Nigerians actively contribute to national development. He further encouraged citizens to reject corruption and other practices capable of undermining the country’s growth.
