As Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1, 2026, the member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson, has congratulated Nigerians, particularly the people of Isuikwuato, calling for renewed commitment to unity, peace, responsible citizenship and national development.

In his Independence Day message titled “Nigeria at 66: A Message from the Land of the Generals,” Hon. Johnson celebrated the courage, resilience and hard work of Nigerians, noting that their contributions remain vital to the country’s growth and development.

Describing Isuikwuato as the “Land of the Generals,” the lawmaker highlighted the area’s rich heritage, strong communities and tradition of courage, leadership, discipline and service.

He urged the sons and daughters of Isuikwuato, both at home and in the diaspora, to remain united and uphold the values that distinguish their people, stressing that their shared heritage should serve as a source of pride and a foundation for a better future.

Hon. Johnson also expressed appreciation to his constituents, including elders, women, youths, farmers, traders, artisans, professionals, entrepreneurs, students and community leaders, for their contributions to the development of their communities.

He thanked the people for their support, resilience and continued belief in a better future, reaffirming his commitment to contributing to their progress and well-being through his legislative responsibilities.

“As your representative in the Abia State House of Assembly, I remain grateful for the trust you have placed in me. Our journey continues, and I remain committed to contributing my part towards the progress and well-being of our people,” he stated.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s 66 years of independence, the lawmaker acknowledged the challenges and achievements recorded by the country over the years, while expressing hope for a brighter future.

He called on Nigerians to use the anniversary as an opportunity to renew their dedication to peace, unity, responsible citizenship and collective progress.

According to him, building a better Nigeria requires the active participation of every citizen and should not be left to the government alone.

“A better Nigeria is not built by government alone. We all have a part to play,” he said.

The lawmaker further expressed hope for greater opportunities for Nigerian youths, prosperity for communities, peace for families and continued growth in national unity and strength.

He concluded by extending Independence Day greetings to the people of Isuikwuato, Abia State and Nigerians across the country, praying for God’s blessings upon the nation and its people.

“May we never lose hope in Nigeria. May our communities prosper, our youths have greater opportunities, our families enjoy peace, and our nation continue to grow in strength and unity,” he added.

Hon. Johnson wished Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary, reaffirming the importance of hope, unity and collective responsibility in building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
