Former Netherlands striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has singled out Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare for praise, describing him as a difficult player for defenders to handle because of his attacking presence and finishing ability.
The 25-year-old striker has enjoyed a remarkable turnaround since moving to the Eredivisie on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Arokodare has scored six goals and provided two assists in nine appearances across competitions, making an immediate impact for his new club.
His current form represents a major improvement from his time at Wolves, where limited playing opportunities affected his consistency. Regular football in the Netherlands has now given the Nigerian international more confidence and an opportunity to rediscover his goalscoring touch.
Huntelaar believes Arokodare’s ability to operate as a focal point in attack gives opposing teams plenty to worry about. His combination of physical presence and goal threat has made him an increasingly important part of his club’s attacking plans.
Arokodare’s performances have also earned him another opportunity with the Super Eagles. Although he failed to score during Nigeria’s recent AFCON qualifying fixtures, his impressive club form continues to strengthen his position among the country’s attacking options.
