At least 28 people have reportedly lost their lives in a series of attacks across parts of Plateau State, with the violence continuing despite movement restrictions introduced by the state government. The reported casualties were recorded across several communities, including Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, Mangu, Riyom and Jos South.

Among those reportedly killed was Pastor Samuel Nandi, who was attacked while travelling to a church service in the Barkin Ladi area. His son was also reportedly shot during the incident and taken for medical treatment. The attacks have left residents worried about their safety and the security of rural communities.

Other reported incidents included an attack on passengers at Dungus Junction in Jos South, where nine people were reportedly killed. Separate attacks were also reported in Ta-Hoss, Vodni, Gana-Ropp and Ndar, while an earlier assault at a farmers’ market in Mangu reportedly left three people dead and several others injured.

The Plateau State Government had imposed a dusk to dawn curfew in Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu, restricting movement between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. The government said the measure was intended to help security agencies restore stability, protect residents and prevent further attacks.

Despite the restrictions, further incidents have continued to be reported, increasing concerns over the security situation in the state. Security agencies are expected to intensify operations in affected communities as authorities face renewed pressure to protect residents and prevent additional loss of lives.
