American Grammy-winning singer Brandy is set to headline Flytime Promotions’ House of R&B concert in Lagos on December 20, adding an international music star to Nigeria’s highly anticipated Detty December celebrations. The concert will hold at the Eko Convention Centre and open a series of festive entertainment events organised by Flytime.
Brandy, celebrated for her distinctive vocals and influence on contemporary rhythm and blues, is known for hit songs including The Boy Is Mine, Have You Ever? and Almost Doesn’t Count. Her upcoming performance is expected to give Nigerian fans an opportunity to experience some of her best-known songs live.
Flytime founder and Chief Executive Officer Cecil Hammond described the booking as an important moment for the company, noting Brandy’s contribution to R&B music. The company’s Chief Operating Officer, Keke Hammond, also said this year’s programme was designed to deliver different entertainment experiences across six nights.
The House of R&B concert will kick off the schedule on December 20, followed by Coca-Cola Rhythm Unplugged on December 21. Flytime Fest, powered by Coca-Cola, is scheduled to run from December 22 to 24, while Flytime Circle will bring the programme to a close on Christmas Day.
Brandy’s appearance adds to the growing list of international entertainment attractions expected in Lagos during the year-end holiday season, when concerts and cultural events draw audiences from across Nigeria and abroad. Organisers are expected to announce further details about the wider programme as preparations continue for the December festivities.
