Abia State Governor Alex Otti has named prominent political figures, including former minister Uche Ogah, former Chief of Staff Chukwudi Agbazuere and Dan Okeke, among members of the Labour Party’s Campaign Advisory Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The appointments form part of efforts to strengthen the party’s leadership structure and prepare for the political activities leading up to the next election. The selected members are expected to bring their political experience and knowledge to the party’s campaign planning.
The advisory council is expected to provide guidance on voter engagement, grassroots mobilisation and coordination of campaign activities across Abia State.
The move also brings together key political stakeholders at a time when parties are positioning themselves for the 2027 polls. How effectively the council works with party leaders and supporters will be important to its campaign preparations.
As political activities gradually intensify, attention will turn to the Labour Party’s plans for engaging residents, communicating its agenda and consolidating its support base across the state.
