Minister of State for Defence and former Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, has presented eight sports utility vehicles to members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, following renewed political engagement with the lawmakers ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The vehicles were presented on the minister’s behalf on Wednesday by Hon. Yazid Shehu Danfulani. He said the gesture fulfilled Matawalle’s earlier promise to support the legislators and promote unity within the party’s political structure in Zamfara State.
The beneficiaries are Aliyu Ango Kagara, Ibrahim Tukur Bakura, Faruk Musa Dosara, Bashir Abubakar Masama, Mukhtar Nasiru Kaura, Nasiru Abdullahi, Bashar Bello and Bashar Aliyu. The lawmakers represent different constituencies across the state.
Danfulani said the legislators would be integrated into the Tinubu Again Movement, a political platform mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and other All Progressives Congress candidates in 2027.
The development follows a meeting between the lawmakers and President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on October 18, facilitated by Matawalle. While the minister’s camp described the engagement as a reaffirmation of political loyalty, the lawmakers’ recent disagreements with the APC have featured disputes over their suspension from the state assembly and outstanding entitlements. Their latest political position remains a significant issue in the unfolding political realignments ahead of the next general elections.
