Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is expected to make his first return to the Etihad Stadium since leaving the club when City take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League next week.
The Spaniard is expected to be in the stands for the October 14 encounter, marking his first visit to the stadium since ending his 10-year spell as City manager at the close of last season.
His return comes as Manchester City deal with the aftermath of an independent commission’s verdict on alleged breaches of Premier League financial regulations. The club was found guilty of most of the charges and has appealed the decision, while continuing to deny wrongdoing.
Guardiola has remained publicly supportive of the club despite the controversy, reaffirming his backing for City’s leadership and supporters.
During his decade in charge, Guardiola guided City to six Premier League titles, a Champions League crown, three FA Cups and five League Cups, making his planned return a significant moment for the club and its fans.
