The Peoples Democratic Party senatorial candidate for Anambra South, Prince Samben Nwosu, has pledged to make employment generation, sustainable empowerment and grassroots development key areas of his proposed representation if elected in 2027.
Nwosu said his campaign would involve direct engagement with residents, particularly young people, to understand the economic challenges confronting communities across the district. He said his proposed empowerment programme would focus on creating longer-term opportunities rather than short-term assistance.
The candidate also promised that each of the seven local government areas in Anambra South would have a signature project under his proposed tenure. He said his legislative agenda would focus on bills and motions capable of having practical effects on residents, businesses and community development.
Anambra South comprises Aguata, Ihiala, Ekwusigo, Orumba North, Orumba South, Nnewi North and Nnewi South Local Government Areas. Nwosu, a former PDP organising secretary and former Federal Commissioner at the Public Complaints Commission, said his decision to contest was aimed at providing what he described as stronger representation for the district.
On the 2027 election, Nwosu called on voters to reject vote buying and electoral manipulation. He said his campaign would rely on grassroots mobilisation and urged residents to protect their votes throughout the electoral process.
