The political disagreement between former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo has taken a fresh turn, with Obi’s camp accusing the governor of devoting too much attention to political matters involving the former governor.
The criticism followed comments from the Soludo administration concerning Obi and his political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections. Obi’s supporters argued that the Anambra government should place greater emphasis on addressing the concerns of residents rather than engaging in continued political exchanges.
The group questioned the priorities of the state government, pointing to areas such as infrastructure, education, security and other challenges facing communities across Anambra. It maintained that the performance of any administration should be judged by its impact on the lives of citizens.
Obi’s camp also called on political and community leaders in the state to encourage constructive engagement and ensure that governance remains at the centre of public discussions. It said political disagreements should not overshadow issues affecting the welfare and development of the people.
The latest exchange has further highlighted the growing political rivalry in Anambra as parties and political figures position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections. With both camps mobilising support, the dispute is expected to remain a major talking point as the election approaches.
